RESPONSIBILITIES

General Manager and Director of Lifespan Structures Lifespan Structures linking up expertise in Bridge and Composite Design and Composite Manufacturing to provide a design and supply bridge solution, service includes;

Managing Projects to include anything from initial feasibility design to complete installation, utilising additional Group resources, including installation and civil design including foundations.
Outline design development working within the requirements of the DMRB.
Approval In Principle Documents and Certification to CG300.
Development of a Composite Design to maximised efficiency in the manufacturing processes, and consideration of alternative guidance on design.
Advice on the different composite bridge production methods and suitability for specific schemes.
The provision of tender supply prices to established or preferred civil engineering supply partners.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

B.Eng (Hons) Civil Engineering

BACKGROUND

A graduate from Surrey University with a Civil Engineering Degree which included a sandwich year working for Specialist Piling Contractor, Cementation.

His first post graduate role was with Gifford & Partners working mainly within bridge design and assessment followed by a secondment to Hampshire CC working as a resident engineer for the bridges on the Bentley Bypass.

This was followed by a more commercially focused role working for the global specialist construction materials manufacturer Sika. Started at the grass roots level within the company. Introduced the concept of strengthening structures with composite materials to the UK market, and via several development roles, progressed to running the UK 'Contractors' Business Unit with a gross turnover of approx. £16m.
